In the 12th century it became the country retreat for the Muslim Kings of Granada until it was bequeathed, in the late 14th century, to a local lord for his assistance to the Royal Catholic Kings during the conquest of Granada. The Palace has been sympathetically renovated and restored to its former glory. While the authentic Moorish ambience has been maintained, the Palace offers all the modern conveniences expected by today’s discerning holidaymaker.
